ABID HASAN
Artist & Interior Designer
About the Artist
As an artist immersed in the vibrant tapestry of Pakistan’s artistic landscape for over 25 years, I have explored the socio-political currents shaping the heart of Pakistan. With more than 40 solo and group exhibitions to my name, my artistic journey has been a testament to the nuanced complexities of Pakistan’s dynamic identity. My work reflects the pulse of our society, engaging deeply with themes that resonate with both local and global audiences. I see art as a medium that transcends boundaries, inviting viewers to engage in dialogue, reflection, and transformation.
I believe in art as the refined fabric that weaves societies and cultures together—a softer side of life that I aim to capture in my abstract creations. My journey began in Rawalpindi and led me to the Karachi School of Arts, where I refined my craft and eventually became an educator. Over the years, I have also balanced my work as a painter and interior designer.
My process is a unique blend of art and science, employing chemicals on silver and gold surfaces to produce spontaneous and instinctive works. Through a meticulous, five-step layering of chemicals, paints, and metals, I create compositions that defy conventional landscapes and invite viewers to explore the invisible and undiscovered aspects of our world. Each piece is a delicate balance of colors, tones, depth, and motion—an artistic harmony that echoes life itself.
